1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Use apply to the Home Screen Captain Android application and this website. By installing, accessing, or using Home Screen Captain, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. What Home Screen Captain does
Home Screen Captain is a general-purpose Android launcher designed to make the home screen easier to navigate. Depending on the version and device, features may include larger buttons, app shortcuts, home-screen search, widgets, themes, fonts, app icons, app hiding, weather information, and an optional large-key keyboard.
Home Screen Captain does not require an account or sign-up to use its core launcher features.
3. No financial, medical, legal, or emergency service
Home Screen Captain is a device-customization and utility application. It is not a bank, lender, investment service, insurance provider, payment service, medical service, legal service, or emergency service. Information displayed by third-party services should not be treated as professional advice.
4. Advertisements
Home Screen Captain may display advertisements in some versions of the app. Ads are provided as part of the app experience and may be delivered by third-party advertising services. We do not guarantee the content, availability, or accuracy of third-party advertisements.
Any interaction with an advertisement or advertiser is between you and that third party and may be subject to the third party's own terms and privacy practices.
5. Optional Accessibility Service
Home Screen Captain may offer an optional shopping-assistance feature that uses Android's Accessibility Service. If the feature is enabled, the app can recognize supported shopping pages in a supported browser so it can identify and display relevant coupon codes or offers.
This permission is optional and should only be activated after a clear in-app explanation and affirmative user consent. The permission can be disabled at any time through Android Accessibility settings. Home Screen Captain does not use the Accessibility Service to prevent uninstalling the app, bypass Android security or privacy controls, or perform unrelated autonomous actions.
6. Optional keyboard
Home Screen Captain may include an optional keyboard with larger keys. You choose whether to enable it as an Android input method. The keyboard is intended to make typing easier. Home Screen Captain is designed not to collect or store the text you type through the keyboard.
7. Device permissions and settings
Certain features may require Android permissions or changes to device settings, such as selecting Home Screen Captain as the default launcher, enabling the optional keyboard, or enabling the optional Accessibility Service. You remain in control of these choices and can change them using Android settings.
8. Third-party apps and services
Home Screen Captain can provide shortcuts to apps or services installed on your device and may interact with third-party services such as browsers, weather, shopping, or advertising providers. Those services are independent from Home Screen Captain and are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
9. Acceptable use
You may use Home Screen Captain only for lawful purposes. You may not attempt to interfere with the app, bypass security protections, reverse engineer the app except where applicable law expressly allows it, or use the app in a way that violates the rights of others.
10. Updates and availability
We may update, improve, add, remove, or discontinue features to maintain compatibility, security, or usability. Features can vary by Android version, device, region, or third-party service availability.
11. Disclaimer
Home Screen Captain is provided on an "as available" basis. We aim to provide a reliable and useful experience, but we do not guarantee that every feature will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device or third-party application.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Home Screen Captain and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of the app or from third-party services. Nothing in these Terms limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.
13. Uninstalling and ending use
You can stop using Home Screen Captain at any time by selecting another launcher or uninstalling the app. Optional permissions can be disabled in Android settings.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms when the app, legal requirements, or our practices change. The latest version will be posted on this page with the updated date.
