What is Home Screen Captain?
Home Screen Captain is an Android home-screen launcher designed to make common apps and tools easier to find with large buttons, clear text, and a simpler layout.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Home Screen Captain does not require registration, sign-up, or a Home Screen Captain account for its core launcher features.
Does Home Screen Captain collect my personal data?
Home Screen Captain is designed so that the app itself does not collect or store personal information about users. The app may display ads, and third-party services used to provide those ads may process limited technical information under their own privacy policies.
Does the app collect financial information?
No. Home Screen Captain is not a financial service and does not ask for bank, credit-card, loan, investment, insurance, or payment-account information to provide its launcher features.
Does Home Screen Captain show ads?
Home Screen Captain may display advertisements in some versions of the app. Ads may be provided by third-party services and are separate from the app's core launcher features.
Why is there an Accessibility Service?
The optional Accessibility Service supports a shopping-assistance feature. When enabled with your permission, it can recognize supported shopping pages in a supported browser so relevant coupon codes or offers can be displayed. It is not required for the basic launcher.
Can I use the launcher without the Accessibility Service?
Yes. The Accessibility Service is optional and can be declined or disabled in Android settings.
Does the Accessibility Service read my passwords or payment details?
It is not intended or permitted to be used for that purpose. Home Screen Captain uses the service only for the disclosed shopping-assistance feature and does not use it to collect passwords, payment-card details, or a general browsing history.
Is the large-key keyboard required?
No. The Home Screen Captain keyboard is optional. You can keep using your existing Android keyboard.
Does Home Screen Captain save what I type?
Home Screen Captain is designed not to collect, transmit, or store the content typed through its optional keyboard.
Can I switch back to my old home screen?
Yes. Open Android Settings and choose another default Home app or launcher. You can also uninstall Home Screen Captain.
Will uninstalling Home Screen Captain delete my other apps?
No. Uninstalling a launcher does not uninstall the other apps installed on your device.
Why does Home Screen Captain need to see installed apps?
A launcher needs to identify apps on the device so it can display app icons, shortcuts, and an All Apps view. Home Screen Captain uses this information for launcher functionality and does not use it to build a personal advertising profile.
Is Home Screen Captain a financial service?
No. It is a home-screen and device-customization utility. It does not provide loans, banking, investments, insurance, payments, or financial advice.
