1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Home Screen Captain handles information when you use the Android application and this website.
2. No account or profile
Home Screen Captain does not require registration, sign-up, a user profile, or a Home Screen Captain account. We do not ask for your name, date of birth, phone number, payment information, or financial information to use the app's core launcher features.
3. Information Home Screen Captain does not collect
The app is designed so that Home Screen Captain does not collect or store personal data on our servers. In particular, we do not use the app to collect:
- account credentials or passwords;
- payment card, bank, credit, loan, or investment information;
- the contents of your contacts, emails, SMS messages, photos, or files;
- text typed with the optional Home Screen Captain keyboard;
- precise location history;
- browsing history for advertising profiles; or
- personal information for sale to data brokers or advertisers.
4. Installed apps and launcher functionality
To function as a launcher, Home Screen Captain may need to identify apps installed on the device so it can display app icons, shortcuts, and an "All Apps" view. This information is used to provide launcher functionality on the device and is not collected or stored by Home Screen Captain as a user profile.
5. Advertisements
Home Screen Captain may display advertisements. Home Screen Captain itself does not require an account and does not sell personal information.
Ads may be delivered by third-party advertising services. Depending on how an advertising service is configured, that provider may process limited technical information needed to deliver, measure, secure, or prevent fraud in connection with ads. Any such third-party processing is governed by the provider's own privacy practices.
6. Optional Accessibility Service
Home Screen Captain may use Android's Accessibility Service only after you choose to enable the optional shopping-assistance feature. The service can access page context from supported shopping pages in a supported browser so the app can determine whether relevant coupon codes or offers can be displayed.
Home Screen Captain does not use this permission to collect a general browsing history, read passwords, read payment-card details, build advertising profiles, or monitor unrelated activity. Page context accessed for this feature is used only for the disclosed shopping-assistance purpose and is not retained by Home Screen Captain as a personal browsing history.
The Accessibility Service is optional. You can refuse permission or disable it later in Android settings without creating a Home Screen Captain account.
7. Optional keyboard
If you enable the optional Home Screen Captain keyboard, text input is used to provide typing functionality on your device. Home Screen Captain is designed not to collect, transmit, or store the content you type through the keyboard.
8. Weather, browsers, and other third-party services
Some app features may display information or open services provided by third parties. When you choose to use a third-party app, website, browser, weather provider, advertising service, or other service, that third party's privacy policy applies to its processing. Home Screen Captain does not control the privacy practices of third parties.
9. Support communications
The app does not automatically collect personal information. If you voluntarily contact us for support, we will receive the information you choose to provide in your message, such as your email address and the content of your request. We use that information only to respond to the support request, maintain necessary support records, protect the service, or comply with legal obligations.
10. Data selling and advertising profiles
Home Screen Captain does not sell personal information. We do not use the app to build advertising profiles based on contacts, messages, keyboard input, browsing history, or financial information.
11. Security
Because Home Screen Captain is designed not to maintain user accounts or a server-side personal-data profile for core launcher use, the amount of personal data held by us is minimized. We still use reasonable administrative and technical measures for any information voluntarily provided to us, such as support messages.
12. Children
Home Screen Captain does not require users to provide personal information through an account. We do not knowingly use the app to collect personal information from children. If you believe personal information was provided to us through a support request by a child, contact us so we can review the request.
13. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when features, third-party services, legal requirements, or data practices change. The updated version will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date.
